Getting married in December in Portugal is something out of the ordinary, that's a fact. There is always the fear of bad weather when you think of weddings out of the Summer season, but it is also known that with climatic changes things are getting more and more unpredictable.
Come rain or sunshine, they would be there to get married and I would be there to photograph them, that much was for sure!
This brave bride and groom, Vânia and João, made December their month and their courage was transformed into a sunny day without a drop of rain! :D
Earlier in September, we had gotten together to walk around Leiria, the city where both they and I live, and I captured the easy smiles that they generate and exchange with each other. Tender moments and intense looks that make mural princesses look envious! (See if you can find this picture below.) ;)
The wedding itself was in Alcobaça, at Challe Fonte Nova where I had the pleasure of returning. The bride and groom each got ready in their own room, with the precious assistance of their closest relatives and came down to the main saloon of the Challet for the ceremony.
After hugs, kisses and many well-wishes the bride, groom, and guests enjoyed their lunch and during the afternoon, before sunset, I went on an exploration of the upper garden of the Challet with the newlyweds.
After that, the celebration continued, animated by the Viola & Violino duo, where there was lots of dancing, drinking and playing until the end of the night!
The proof is in the pictures!
